N'zan Ametrine

The only thing he knew was to put others before himself. He tirelessly sought out love, comfort and happiness. It would only come at such prices, paining his heart every time something shattered right in front of him.Over time, N'zan learned that he needed to put himself first. But, by how much? It surely cost him being exiled from his tribe to finally wake up.

After fighting the Lord of Levin in his trial, N'zan came out of the battle realizing his memory was coming back. Being shocked by lightning must have done it, as he was not feeling throbs like how the Echo treats him... but more like clarity coming to his fogged mind.He had not left his clan on his own accord. Yes, he ended up causing his own departure, but it was more complicated than that. He remembered that he left due to contesting his clan's and the Miqo'te mating and status traditions.A few times, he would roam the woods and find wounded travelers and adventurers or weary merchants or migrating families. He would converse with them while providing healing and resources to help them get back on their feet. Over a few moons, he would learn about other cultures and traditions, and begin to question his own beliefs and ideals.N'zan was always a Tia. He never liked conflict, and thought the whole Nunh and Tia structure was outlandish, despite growing up and witnessing it all of his life. After understanding how other cultures and races operate, whether it be through an adventurer's plight on earning the love of his life, or a family sharing their memories with him, N'zan decided to try and change things in the shadows. He would talk to the females of his clan, those he was interested in and trusted him. He swooned them, becoming passionate and intimate after learning more about who they are and sharing what he thought about the world. He became more confident to be who he believed he could be.One night, he was awoken abruptly. The Nunh of the clan had grabbed him swiftly without warning and dragged him into the center of the town, berating and beating N'zan for his "crimes" to the clan, disgracing tradition and insulting everyone he lived with.N'zan was able to fight back after a few blows, using some of his magic to cause a divide between him and the Nunh. They went at it, claw to claw, roaring at each other. Unfortunately, being the one who broke the rules, N'zan was grabbed by other loyal members to the clan and thrown out of the village, banished for what he had done.N'zan had not regretted what had happened over the last week, and was happy he was able to make a mark on the village. He didn't do it out of spite or to defy anyone. He wanted to be seen for who he was, and wandered into the forest, limping but head high.A few hours passed while he was wandering and he blacked out from exhaustion. Upon waking up, he was greeted by the bright sun but out in the desert, and facing a city unfamiliar to him. He cannot remember or discern if his body brought him there or if someone or something else did it for him, but seeing the city, he figured out that this was Ul'dah, recalling the location and description all the merchants and adventurers talked about with him.Grinning, he took a moment to gather himself, pulled as much healing he could gather to get himself to walk steady for a few minutes, just to make it to the city walls and find his new life.

Eternally Bonded to Kazumi

Can I tell you about what I felt the first time I laid my eyes on you? The moment I heard you speak for the first time? How about when you laughed? You showed who you are to everyone around you, and I fell for you so quickly. But the thing is, I didn’t fall for you where it was a hopeless crush. No, I didn’t.I fell for you for who you are, Kazumi. I fell for the person that I could have simply accepted to be a distant friend, but I decided to push. I knew that we were two people who were coasting through the waves, having one crash over us every so often and making us find the surface again. But I knew that every chance I had, I shone my light towards you. I sought your attention, and you blessed me with it every chance you could..People don’t know this, but I will reveal this one thing: There was one night, when I had barely started out in this game, that I was able to get close to you. You let me in and it wasn’t anything deep or of the sort. We just hung out, cuddled and watched a show. And I think that defined everything for me and my desires with you. I just want to exist and be in your company. I need to be yours in even the simplest fashion. Just to be yours, and you to be mine. Now, skip a couple months, and we are here… I am her partner, through everything so far. And I am more than ecstatic to experience life with her. To be her simple kitten while she is the Great Azem. To be her sword and shield, protecting her very being. To love her with all of my heart, as she has been to me.Kazumi, to even be in the same room as you is a blessing beyond compare. The fact I get to have you in my arms is something I will never take advantage of. I can’t even believe we’re standing right here, honestly. It all feels like a dream… but it’s not. I’m awake. I’m alive. And I’m living with you. In our new chapter of our life. I didn’t have a last name this whole time..And now I get to have yours. I love you so much, Kaz. I promise to cherish every moment that we share together and to love you unconditionally. You have my heart, forever and always.- Zan Ametrine, 2/3/2022
